Brief info
Junior is undoubtedly the most successful boat in the 6MJI class.
Built in 1981 by Batbyggarna and designed by Pelle Petterson for Edmond de Rothschild, it was launched under the name Gitana Junior. It won the Royal Regattas in Cannes in 1981 and 1982 and finished second in the European Championships in Helsinki in 1982.
The boat was modified by Ian Howlett in 1989 and 1990 with a new keel and rudder.
